MLA for Vijayanagar M. Krishnappa on Saturday directed the Bengaluru West Corporation to take strict action against bogus property accounts created on government land in the Vijayanagar Assembly constituency.
Speaking at a review meeting, Mr. Krishnappa urged the administration to respond swiftly to the concerns of citizens and curb the growing menace of agents in revenue offices. He instructed officials to identify fake khatas and act decisively against those responsible.
West Corporation Commissioner Rajendra K.V. said the revision of property taxes must be expedited and warned that revenue inspectors and collectors who fail to perform would face disciplinary action.
Officials have also been told to take strong enforcement measures against unauthorised paying-guest accommodations, coordinating with the police wherever required. After reviewing accident-prone spots in the constituency, the officers were instructed to install rumble strips at locations where recurring accidents are reported.
The Bescom and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) have been directed to seek prior permission before undertaking any road-cutting work and to share work plans with the corporation’s engineering division.
The Commissioner said CCTV cameras previously installed by the corporation must be updated, and their live feeds should be shared with local police stations. Increased checks on unauthorised trade licences and illegal medical establishments were also ordered.
Mr. Rajendra further instructed that all unauthorised flexes and banners be removed immediately and said that a city beautification drive would begin after December 15.
Reviewing infrastructure projects, the Commissioner noted that white-topping work in Hosahalli has been progressing slowly and directed officials to speed up the work.
