As part of ongoing efforts to build a drug-free society, the Tambaram City Police conducted a counselling session for nodal officers of school and college anti-drug committees on Friday at the Kilambakkam police station. The programme was chaired by Tambaram City Police Commissioner Abhin Dinesh Modak.
Officials from the Tamil Nadu Home Department, Kalsingh and Saravanakumar, addressed the participants and issued detailed guidelines aimed at preventing students from indulging in drug abuse. They also briefed them on their roles and responsibilities in strengthening anti-drug initiatives.
Around 105 participants, including professors, headmasters, coordinators and teachers from various educational institutions within the Tambaram City limits, took part in the session. During the meeting, experts explained methods to identify, manage and support students dealing with addiction. They also shared strategies to conduct effective awareness programmes to ensure early prevention and timely intervention.
