TASMAC shops to remain closed for Thevar jayanthi in Virudhunagar district on Thursday

All TASMAC retail liquor shops, FL-1 FL-2 and FL-3 bars would remain closed on Thursday in order to maintain law and order on the occasion of Muthuramalinga Thevar jayanthi. In a statement, Virudhunagar Collector, N.O. Sukhaputra, said the closure of the shops will be effected under the provisions of The Tamil Nadu Liquor (Licence and Permit) Rules, 1981. Stringent action would be taken against the employees of TASMAC shops and owners of FL-1, FL-2 and FL-3 bars under the provisions of The Tamil Nadu Liquor (Licence and Permit) Rules, if they violated the diktat.
