Cutting across party lines, politicians from Telangana condoled the untimely demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash near Baramati in Pune district on Wednesday (January 28, 2026) morning.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep shock over the demise of the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister. He prayed for strength to the bereaved family.

Expressing condolences over the demise of the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, former Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief, K. Chandrashekar Rao, said that Ajit Pawar — who began his public life as a farmers’ movement leader and rose to become a senior political figure in Maharashtra while serving in various key positions — leaves an irreparable void in Maharashtra politics with his passing. KCR conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members.

BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao said it was extremely distressing to learn that the aircraft carrying the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, met with an accident while attempting to land at Baramati, resulting in his death along with several others.

“I express profound shock over this tragic incident and convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident, and may God give strength and courage to the bereaved families during this time of grief,” he said in a statement.

Transport Ponnam Prabhakar and Panchayat Raj Minister Danasiri Anusuya (Seethakka) recalled his services to the people of Maharashtra. Ms. Seethakka said Ajit Pawar’s passing away is an irreparable loss to Maharashtra politics and public life. She noted that his contributions to public service will always be remembered.

Mr. Ponnam Prabhakar said Ajit Pawar’s untimely death was a great loss to the Maharashtra politics and pointed out that the late leader had a vast experience in the State’s political landscape.

Tourism and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao praised Ajit Pawar, stating that he had left an indelible mark on Maharashtra politics. “Rising step by step from the grassroots level, Pawar had earned a reputation as an efficient administrator, and his death is an irreparable loss to Maharashtra. Pawar’s proactive approach to resolving public issues and his vision for development were truly inspirational,”he said.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud expressed profound shock over the tragic death said Ajit Pawar, who rose to become a great political leader in Maharashtra and recently became the Deputy Chief Minister, leaving behind an irreparable void in Maharashtra politics.
