The Telangana government has appointed K. Ramesh Reddy, Principal of the Government Medical College in Yadadri Bhongir, as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS). The appointment order was issued by Health Department Secretary, Christina Z. Chongthu on Thursday (December 4, 2025).

The decision was taken a week after P. V. Nanda Kumar Reddy stepped down from the Vice Chancellor post following allegations of administrative and examination-related irregularities. His resignation came soon after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sought a detailed explanation from senior officials in the Health department regarding reports that pointed to discrepancies in the university’s operations.

Dr. Ramesh Reddy previously served as the in-charge Director of Medical Education (DME) for six years from 2017 to 2023.
