The Hindu In School Rising Stars — celebrating Namma Tiruppur, an inter-school event designed to celebrate the rich culture, heritage, and promising future of Tiruppur, will be organised by the Tiruppur Corporation on November 29.
Painting and quiz competitions will be conducted as part of the event, to be held at the Corporation Town Hall Building on Kumaran Road here.
The associate sponsors of the event are Anantham Retail Private Limited, Lux Industries Ltd, Sri Amman Jewellers, and Majestic Exports. BSA Hercules is the gift sponsor.
The painting contest will be held under two categories: Classes 4 to 6 and Classes 7 to 9. The winners will take home bicycles. Besides trophies, certificates, gift vouchers, and seven consolation prizes will be given. The quiz contest is for students from Classes 9 to 12 only. The champion team will be given two bicycles. The top eight teams will win trophies and gift vouchers.
For the painting contest, the organisers will provide drawing sheets. Students must bring their own colouring materials. Topics will be given on the spot. The quiz will be conducted by V.V. Ramanan. A team consists of two students from the same school branch. A written preliminary round will be conducted to shortlist qualifying teams for the finals.
Registrations are to be done only by the schools. And, there is no spot registration. Participation is free for The Hindu Group’s subscribing schools. For the painting competition, a school can nominate a maximum of 10 students for each category.
