A representation has been submitted on behalf of the AIADMK to the Nilgiris District Election Officer and District Collector demanding that the completed voter forms be collected only by the designated Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
In the petition, District secretary of the party, Kappachi D. Vinoth, noted that during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, political party booth agents (BLA-2) have been allowed to collect up to 50 forms each. Mr. Vinoth expressed concern that forms collected through party agents could lead to malpractice.
He requested that all forms submitted door-to-door be received only by the BLOs to ensure transparency and proper handling of voter information.
Residents seek better road
Residents of Indira Nagar under Adikaratti Panchayat have urged the Nilgiris District Collector to provide proper road facility in the area.
They said the condition of the road, especially during the rainy season, makes commuting difficult for school children and senior citizens. Students often miss classes, and daily travel has become challenging for residents. Despite repeated appeals to local authorities, including the Panchayat office, no action has been taken over the past decade.
Residents have requested a field inspection by the Collector and warned of further steps if the matter is not addressed.
