Thirupparankundram temple row: Hindu Munnani to hold State-wide stir on Dec. 7

Hindu Munnani State president Kadeshwara Subramaniam on Friday said the outfit will conduct State-wide protest on December 7 against the Tamil Nadu Government’s denial of permission for devotees to light lamps atop Thirupparankundram hill.

“The State Government has insulted Hindus by not permitting them to light the lamp for the last two days, despite the High Court directive. The act of the police was unconstitutional,” he told mediapersons in Tiruppur.

Mr. Subramaniam charged Law Minister S. Regupathy with misleading the people. The DMK government was pretending to be secular, but was hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.

The DMK Government was raking up the temple issue to cover up its failure on the law and order front, he said.
