Thoothukudi district collector K. Elambahavath held a consultation meeting on Monday with representatives of recognised political parties regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
The SIR work is currently underway in all six assembly constituencies of Thoothukudi district. As part of the process, Booth Level Officers (BLO) began distributing voter enumeration forms from November 4.
The work of collecting the filled-in enumeration forms is now in progress and voter service centres have been set up at various locations to facilitate this. Additionally, booth agents of political parties are assisting the voters in filing up and submitting the forms. Help centres have also been established by political parties to support voters through the process.
Voters have been instructed to complete and return the enumeration forms by December 4. In this context, A consultation meeting with representatives of recognised political parties was held at the collectorate to review the process of revision work.
Presiding over the meeting, Mr. Elambahavath explained the role and contribution expected from political parties in SIR process.
