Three day old body found with relatives in Jeedimetla residence

A 76-year-old man was found dead in his home nearly a week ago, with his family remaining inside with the body for almost three days, before the police intervened. The Jeedimetla police said that the deceased was identified as Swami Dasane. Neighbours, alarmed by the situation, alerted the police, who registered a case and sent the body for postmortem.

Investigation revealed that the family had been struggling with severe financial distress and had refrained from asking for assistance allegedly due to ‘pride’. After the father’s death, they had reportedly spent a week attempting to manage the situation on their own.

With the support of an NGO, the family was relocated on Thursday (December 4) to The Home for the Disabled near Bible House, for care and shelter.
