Three held for pushing senior citizen out of Metro train

The Saifabad police have arrested three men for abusing and pushing a 62-year-old advocate onto the platform at Lakdikapul Metro Station after he asked them to vacate a seat reserved for senior citizens. The incident, which was reported on October 21, sparked outrage among commuters.

The accused were identified as Sivvala Sunil Kumar, 32, Sivvala Rajesh, 34, and Kalishetti Ashok, 34, all residents of Nizampet in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

According to the police, the complainant, G. Krishna Kishore, a resident of Begumpet, boarded the metro at Ameerpet around 6 p.m. The accused were seated in a section reserved for senior citizens. When Kishore requested them to give up the seat, they allegedly hurled abuses and behaved aggressively. The altercation continued until the train reached Lakdikapul, where the trio pushed the complainant onto the platform, causing him to sustain injuries.

Following a complaint, a case was booked and the trio was arrested on November 3. During interrogation, they confessed to having occupied the reserved seats and assaulting the complainant. They were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
