A three-month-old baby was found dead in a well at Kurumathur, near Taliparamba, Kannur, Kerala, on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Alan, son of Jabir, of Pokkund.
The child was rushed to a private hospital in Taliparamba but was declared brought dead.
The body was later shifted to the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Preliminary investigation by the police suggests that the infant was thrown into the well. A case has been registered. Further investigation is under way.
