Three new judges take oath of office in Delhi HC

Justices Dinesh Mehta, Avneesh Jhingan, and Chandrasekharan Sudha were sworn in on Tuesday as Delhi High Court judges, bringing the total strength to 44 against a sanctioned strength of 60.

The ceremony, held at the Delhi High Court, saw Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya administer the oath of office to the new judges.

Justices Mehta and Jhingan were previously serving in the Rajasthan High Court before their transfer to the Delhi High Court, while Justice Sudha was transferred from the Kerala High Court.

Prior to this appointment, six other judges – Justices V. Kameswar Rao, Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Vivek Chaudhary, Om Prakash Shukla, Anil Kshetarpal, and Arun Kumar Monga – had also joined the Delhi High Court after being transferred from other high courts.

Meanwhile, on Monday, two judges – Justices Arun Monga and Tara Vitasta Ganju – of the Delhi High Court bid farewell as they were transferred to the Rajasthan and Karnataka High Courts, respectively.
