The Chandanagar police and the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Madhapur Zone arrested three persons for allegedly attempting to sell MDMA. Officers said 15 grams of the substance were seized during the operation.
The accused were identified as Devra Harish, 28, of Bapu Nagar in Serilingampally, Kunchala Sai Krishna, 28, of the same locality, and Gunji Sai Manikanta, 24, of Tellapur in Sangareddy district. Police named an absconding suspect as Arun of Bengaluru.
DCP Madhapur, Ritiraj, said that Harish began using drugs during visits to his cousins in Bengaluru and later decided to procure MDMA for sale in Hyderabad. “He reportedly discussed the plan with Krishna and Manikanta, who agreed to join him. The three pooled ₹10,000 each and sent Harish to collect the drug from his cousin Arun. After two days in Bengaluru, he returned with 15 grams of MDMA,” said the officer.
Police said the three men were caught on Sunday, near Hitex road, while trying to sell the substance for ₹10,000 a gram. Three mobile phones were also seized.
The Cyberabad police urged people to share information on drug suppliers through Dial 100, the Cyberabad NDPS Enforcement Cell or the Cyberabad WhatsApp helpline, ensuring confidentiality.
