Tiruchi Division registers ₹3.25 crore in parcel revenue

The Tiruchi Railway Division has recorded a revenue of ₹3.25 crore from parcels during the first six months of this financial year from April 1 to September 30 reflecting steady growth in parcel movements and increased customer engagement. 

To enhance accessibility and service reach, the Tiruchi Division has established a robust network of parcel offices at key locations, including Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Mannargudi, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Puducherry, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Nagapattinam, and Karaikal.

With flexible booking options, customers can transport consignments starting from as little as 10 kg up to full parcel cargo express trains choosing from a range of convenient transport solutions. The Tiruchi Division operates both four tonne SLRs (luggage cum brake vans) and 24-tonne parcel vans, which are available for lease or one-time booking supported by secure digital platforms.

A wide range of commodities, including perishables (vegetables, fruits, fish and eggs), two-wheelers, and livestock can be transported except hazardous items such as gas cylinders, fireworks, and explosives, a press release from the Tiruchi Division said.
