Conference

Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarapettai, hosted a regional level Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) innovators conference.

At the event, George Clinton, General Manager, SCAD Education Group, delivered the welcome address and Cletus Babu, founder, SCAD Group, delivered the keynote address.

The innovation exhibition was inaugurated by special guests Rajendran, executive vice president, Yokohama Off-Highways Tires, and Rakesh Kumar, assistant director, All India Council for Technical Education.

More than 800 people from various higher education institutions participated in the conference.

Faculty programme

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli, organised a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Personal Effectiveness for Professional Efficiency.”

A.Abdul Kader, former director (unaided programmes) of Sadakathullah Appa College, was the resource person. The session focused on strengthening self-awareness, emotional intelligence, time management and interpersonal skills.

The objective of the FDP included equipping faculty members with strategies for maintaining work-life balance, developing professional ethics and building confidence to handle academic challenges effectively.

Awareness workshop

A one-day awareness workshop titled “Empowering Students with AI: A Journey to the Future” was successfully conducted today at the National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for the students of C.A.R.M. Girls Higher Secondary School.

The workshop aimed to provide students with basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and equip them with the skills to use AI in shaping their future.

More than 45 students from C.A.R.M. Girls Higher Secondary School participated in the programme.

World Soil Day

World Soil Day was celebrated at TNAU-Agricultural Research Station (ARS) in Kovilpatti. At the event M. Suganthi, Municipal Commissioner, Kovilpatti, called for proper segregation of waste by the public and scientific recycling of farm wastes into compost that can improve the fertility of the soil.

B. Bakiyathu Saliha, professor and head of the research station, highlighted the changing climatic condition, which is likely to reduce the average yields of the crops in coming years. She added that the solution to overcome this challenge is to ensure the sufficient organic carbon content in soil through regular supply of organic manure.

Certificates were distributed to 25 young entrepreneurs on the successful completion of 26 day training on “Organic Cultivator (small unit)” conducted at the ARS, under “Naan Mudalavan Vetri Nichayam” of Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.
