About 270 kg of banned tobacco products, valued at about ₹7 lakh, were seized by the police from a house used as a godown on Thanjavur Road in the city on Tuesday.
Two persons, Ajithkumar, 21, of Karnataka and Rakesh Sharma, 25, of Rajasthan, were arrested on charges of smuggling in tobacco products from other States, according to a police press release.
