Tourism guideship workshop held for tourist taxi drivers in Coimbatore

The Coimbatore district administration, in association with SKAL Coimbatore, conducted a one-day Tourism Guideship Workshop for tourist taxi driver-owners in the city on Wednesday. A total of 66 participants who underwent the training received certificates.

District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, who presented the certificates to the trainees, said that tourist taxi drivers serve as the first point of contact for visitors and often function as informal local guides. He emphasised the importance of ensuring safe and comfortable travel for tourists while providing credible local information to enrich their overall experience.

District Tourism Officer T. Jagatheeswari took part as the chief guest. SKAL Coimbatore president Ramesh Chandrakumar and secretary Nijo Agustin were present.
