Tourists were allowed to bathe at the Kodiveri anicut after 18 days as the water flow in River Bhavani returned to normal here on Wednesday (November 5, 2025).

The ban, imposed on October 18 following heavy rain and flooding in the river, had made bathing unsafe. As the water level has now receded and the inflow reduced, the damaged safety railings near the bathing area were repaired over the past two days, and the spot was declared safe for visitors.

The Kodiveri anicut attracts large crowds from Erode, neighbouring districts and States, especially during weekends and holidays. Tourists who had been disappointed by the prolonged closure expressed happiness as they were once again allowed to bathe and spend time with their families at the popular picnic spot. Authorities have urged visitors to follow safety regulations while bathing.
