Tourists from Dakshina Kannada and adjoining regions can book tickets to board the IRCTC’s Bharath Gaurav Train at Mangaluru Junction and be part of the Jyotirling Yatra for November 21 to December 1.

Talking to reporters in Mangaluru, IRCTC Joint General Manager (Tourism) P. Sam Joseph, said the 10-night/11-day Yatra will cover Jyotirling Temples in Dwaraka, Nageshwar, Somanath, Bhimashankar, Triambakeshwar, Pachwati, Grishneshwar, and Ellora.

The train will start from Tirunelveli Railway station on November 21. Tourists can board the train enroute at Nagercoil Town, Trivandrum Central, Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Shornur Junction, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Mangaluru Junction railway stations on the same day. On the return, tourists from Dakshina Kannada can get down either at Palakkad or Thrissur Railway stations on December 1.

The tariff for economy category, which includes train journey in sleeper class, stay in non AC budget hotel and movement in Non-AC buses, will be ₹ 19,770 for adult and ₹ 18,500 for a child below 11 years. For Standard and Comfort categories, which entails train journey in 3-Tier AC and 2 Tier AC will be ₹ 31,930 and ₹42,010 respectively for an adult.

Mr. Joseph said presently seats for standard category were available, as economy and comfort categories have already been booked. Booking can be made on www.irctctourism.com or by visiting the IRCTC booking counter in Mangaluru Central Railway station.

The IRCTC was presently running five-day Ooty tour package from Mangaluru. Every Thursday tourists are taken from Mangaluru Central to Coimbatore Railway station in the West Coast Express train. From Coimbatore, tourists will be taken to Ooty for two days. In the return, tourists will board West Coast Express at Coimbatore on Sunday night and return to Mangaluru Central on Monday morning. The fare for sleeper class was ₹10,160, and ₹11,430 for 3-Tier AC class for an adult.

The IRCTC was also offering from Mangaluru the 4-night/5-day package by air to Kashi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya. The tariff for this was ₹35,600 for an adult, he said.
