Training programme for Booth Level Officers (BLO) and supervisors to carry out Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was conducted here on Friday.

Close to 270 BLOs and supervisors of the North Assembly Constituency were briefed and trained by the Electoral Registration Officer R. Ravikumar during programme.

During the training programme, the officers were trained on form filling, collecting details and data during the door-to-door survey, enumeration, preparation of draft electoral roll, and, among other duties that would be assigned to them as part of the State-wide SIR, an official said.

Also, they were instructed to verify that persons listed in the provided electoral roll were residing at address mentioned in the list, and if the residents have moved, that should have been recorded in their data.

“If there are any changes to the name, address, or photograph, action must be taken to correct them with the voter’s consent and if a voter listed on the roll is deceased, a death certificate must be obtained and recorded.

The schedule of the overall SIR process would encompass preparations from October 28 to November 3; enumeration from November 4 to December 4; publication of draft electoral roll on December 9; claims and objections from December 9 to January 8, 2026; notification decision on enumeration forms from January 8 to 31; and release of final electoral roll on February 7, the official noted.

As the training programme for North Assembly Constituency was conducted on Friday, in the preceding days, training would be conducted for the BLOs and supervisors of other constituencies too.
