Trains to be short-terminated, cancelled for modernisation works in December-January

A number of trains will be short-terminated in December to facilitate safety-related modernisation works in connection with the traffic-cum-power block for placement of segment boxes by cut and cover method for LHS works over Kottavalasa-Kirandul Section in WAT Division.

The trains that will be short terminated/short originated at Koraput are: Train no: 58501 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger, leaving Visakhapatnam on December 2, 9 and 16, train no: 58502 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Passenger will start from Koraput on December 2, 9 and 16, instead of Kirandul.

Train no. 18447 Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express leaving Bhubaneswar on December 1 and 15 will be short terminated at Koraput and train no: 18448 Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express will start from Koraput on December 16, instead of Jagdalpur, train no: 18107 Rourkela-Jagdalpur Express, leaving Rourkela on December 1 and 15 will be short terminated at Koraput, and train no: 18108 Jagdalpur-Rourkela Express will start from Koraput on December 2 and 16, instead of Jagdalpur.

16 trains to be cancelled between January 28 and 31

Additionally, 15 trains originating or terminating in Visakhapatnam and one train between Tirupati and Puri will be cancelled to facilitate safety related to modernisation works for ‘Box-Inserting’ at the bridge between Godavari – Rajahmundry and Rajahmundry – Kadiayam stations of Visakhapatnam – Vijayawada section of Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway.

The trains to be cancelled are: Train no: 12717/18 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Ratnachal express will be cancelled from January 29 to 31 from both sides, train no: 17239 Guntur-Visakhapatnam Simhadri express will be cancelled from January 28 to 30 and train no: 17240 Visakhapatnam-Guntur Simhadri express will be cancelled from January 29 to 31, train no: 12806 Lingampalli – Visakhapatnam Janmabhoomi express, leaving Lingampalli on January 29 and 30 will be cancelled and train no: 12805 Visakhapatnam – Lingampalli Janmabhoomi express, leaving Visakhapatnam on January 28 and 29 will be cancelled, according to K. Pavan Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division.

The other trains to be cancelled are: train no: 67285/86 Rajahmundry – Visakhapatnam-Rajahmundry MEMU passenger on January 29 and 31 will be cancelled, train no: 17480 Tirupati – Puri Express, leaving Tirupati on January 27 and train no: 17479 Puri -Tirupati Express, leaving Puri on January 28 will be cancelled. Train no. 22708 Tirupati – Visakhapatnam Double Decker, leaving Tirupati on January 28 and train no 22707 Visakhapatnam – Tirupati Double Decker leaving Visakhapatnam on January 29 will be cancelled, train no: 17219 Machilipatnam – Visakhapatnam express, leaving Machilipatnam on January 28 and 29 and train no: 17220 Visakhapatnam – Machilipatnam express, leaving Visakhapatnam on January 29 and 30 will be cancelled. Train no. 22876 Guntur – Visakhapatnam Double Decker Uday express, leaving Guntur on January 31 and train no: 22875 Visakhapatnam – Guntur Double Decker Uday Express leaving Visakhapatnam on January 31 will be cancelled.

Travelling public are requested to note the changes and act accordingly. The railways have regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers.
