Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay is set to resume his public outreach with a limited-access, indoor format event, on Sunday (November 23, 2025) in Kancheepuram district.
This marks a revised public engagement strategy adopted by the party nearly two months after 41 persons died in a stampede at a political rally addressed by Mr. Vijay.
According to party sources, Mr. Vijay will take part in a public outreach event at a private college in Sunguvarchathiram on the outskirts of Chennai, where he will address supporters from Kancheepuram district at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The meeting will be held indoors. Entry will be restricted to 2,000 registered participants with QR-code identity cards issued by the party.
Earlier, the TVK had submitted a petition to the Salem City Police Commissioner seeking permission to hold a public meeting, deviating from its usual roadshow format, at one of three locations identified by the party for December 4.
However, the police denied permission as December 4 falls on the eve of the Karthigai Deepam festival and police personnel would be deputed to neighbouring Tiruvannamalai district for security arrangements.
