With people’s power, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) will come to power by winning the 2026 Assembly elections, said the party’s high-level administrative committee chief coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan in Chennai on Friday (November 28, 2025).
In a brief media interaction, Mr. Sengottaiyan, a former AIADMK veteran who joined the TVK a day earlier, after his expulsion from the Dravidian major, said the people of Tamil Nadu wished for a new party to govern the State and Mr. Vijay had been gaining wide public support.
Asked what measures he would take to strengthen the party structure in his role as chief coordinator, he said, “Everyone is aware of my political work. People know the role I play and the responsibilities I take on. I will continue to work tirelessly under his [Mr. Vijay’s] leadership to bring about a change of government and ensure victory for the party.”
He said the date for Mr. Vijay’s public outreach programme in Erode district would be decided after discussing it with him. Mr. Sengottaiyan refused to comment when asked about the possibility of any other former AIADMK leaders joining the TVK.
