Two brothers allegedly drowned in a pond at an agriculture field in Pala Venkatapuram village of Brahmasamudram mandal of the district on Sunday (December 07, 2025).
According to police, Talari Venkateswarlu of Kalyanadurg town rented 14 acres of mango orchards on lease in Pala Venkatapuram village. On Sunday morning, Venkateswarlu came to the orchards to spray pesticide, but as the pesticide he brought fell short, he called his sons Narendra (22) and Charan (20) to bring pesticide.
The duo gave the pesticide to their father and entered into the pond in the fields. As they could not swim, they accidentally slipped and drowned. The two bodies were fished out and a case has been registered.
