Two persons were killed and one critically injured when a car by which they were travelling hit a parapet of a bridge on the Tiruchi-Madurai Highway at Krishnapuram near Thuvarankurichi on Saturday.
The victims were identified as Patrick, 55, of Nagamalai Pudukottai in Madurai district, a private college professor in Madurai, and Arockia Pricilla, 32, his daughter-in-law. Melvin, 32, a software professional who was driving the car, has been admitted to a private hospital in Madurai. They were proceeding to Madurai from Chennai. The Thuvarankurichi police have registered a case and are investigating.
