Two hotels in Tirupati get hoax bomb threat mails

The police along with bomb squad carried out inspections at two hotels near Kapila Theertham in Tirupati on Monday (December 01, 2025) after an email threat. The police swiftly launched operations after receiving information that an email was sent to Raj Park and Pai Viceroy hotels. Later, it was confirmed to be a hoax.

The hotel managements filed a complained that they received a threatening email from an unknown mail id on Monday morning at 10.47 a.m., claiming that RDX IEDs were planted at the hotel premises. The email claimed the involvement of LTTE TOSIS along with Karachi ISI Cells to divert the attention reportedly from Jaffar Sadiq Meth case.

Bomb Squad DSP M. Ramakrishna immediately formed two teams headed by ASI Ramesh and E. Peeraiah, each team having three members and a sniffer dog. The two teams carried out inspections in all the rooms, dustbins, flowerpots, vehicles, kitchens, food storage godowns, and questioned the guests and suspicious persons. However, no suspicious object was found at both the places.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Peeraiah said, “We have been receiving many hoax bomb threats from the past one-and-half years from unidentified individuals claiming to be from Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, and some from Maharashtra. At least, five to six times the same hotels received the threatening mails. After a gap of 10 months, they got such hoax bomb threat again.”
