Two more arrested in Madanapalle kidney racket

Madanapalle Police on Tuesday (November 25, 2025) arrested two more accused in connection with the illegal kidney transplantation case that came to light early this month.

On November 9, 2025, a Bengaluru-based doctor, his team and others performed kidney transplantation on two women from Visakhapatnam violating the prescribed rules and regulations. One of the woman, Yamuna, died of post-surgery complication the next day and a case had been registered based on the complaint of the woman’s mother Suramma.

Police registered cases under various Sections of BNS and Human Organ Transplantation Act – 2011 and arrested six accused so far. On Tuesday, police arrested two more accused Kondaiah and Suman, who hail from Kadapa, and sent them to judicial remand.
