The Delhi police on Wednesday arrested two more persons in connection with the “fake acid attack” case involving a 20-year-old Delhi University student.
The student’s father is under arrest for allegedly staging the attack to frame three men with whom he had personal disputes. The police said while executing the “attack”, he “poured a chemical” on his daughter.
The police arrested the student’s uncle, and her younger brother, who has been sent to an observational home as his juvenile status is unconfirmed.
“We have interrogated the student and her father. They confessed to the involvement of her uncle and her younger brother,” said an officer.
The two have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A probe into the alleged misuse of acid attack allegations is under way, the officer added.
