Two new cases of amoebic meningoencephalitis and two deaths due to the infection were confirmed by the Health department on Tuesday
The deaths reported were that of an 84-year-old woman in Chelembra, Malappuram, and a 68-year-old man in Kannadikkal, Kozhikode. Both deaths were reported on Monday.
Two new cases were also reported on Tuesday, from Vilakudy in Kollam and Chooloor in Kozhikode
The total number of amoebic meningoencephalitis cases in the State so far this year has thus risen to 160, with 36 deaths
