The Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) signed two memorandum of understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening international employment pathways for candidates from the State, at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 here on Monday.

Under an MoU with Global Workforce Development, which is an initiative of Apollo Hospitals, GWD proposed a collaboration to empower Telangana’s nursing and healthcare talent. Under the partnership, GWD will support candidates through specialised skill enhancement, structured language training and globally aligned certification programmes.

The aim is to facilitate overseas employment opportunities across Germany, Japan, the UK, Australia and other countries where skilled healthcare professionals are in high demand, the Labour Employment Training and Factories department said in a release.

The second MoU involves a proposal from Nexwave GmbH, Germany, offering 350 Warehouse Associate positions for English-speaking candidates with basic educational qualifications such as ITI, diploma or degree. The opportunity includes a competitive gross salary of €2,100, comprehensive pre-departure guidance, flexible payment options for processing and travel and full support throughout the recruitment cycle. Selected candidates will receive accommodation facilitation, onboarding assistance and a 5-day job training upon arrival in Germany. Visa processing under this proposal is estimated to take 8–10 weeks, ensuring a streamlined transition for qualified candidates.

The department said that under the PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skill, Employment & Transformation through upgradation of ITI) 13 MoUs were signed with 13 companies to upgrade trades in ITIs by imparting training in their industries, as part of the CSR initiative. Under this, training of trainers (TOT) and on-the-job training for trainees is planned, it said.

A panel session on ‘Gig Economy: Rise of Fluid Careers’ was organised by the department at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, with Labour Minister G. Venkataswamy chairing the session. From global trends and fair work principles for the platform economy; field realities of gig work — evidence, challenges and policy solutions; challenges faced by aggregators/platforms, skill gaps and initiatives; salient features in the new social security code; and Telangana’s draft Gig Workers Bill were discussed.

TOMCOM organised a panel session on ‘Global talent pathways — Telangana’s workforce for the world’.
