Two members of the National Guard were shot Wednesday (November 26, 2025) just blocks from the White House, according to officials.
“Please join me in praying for the two National Guardsmen who were just shot moments ago in Washington D.C.,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on X, without describing the health status of the two victims.
Police in Washington said on Wednesday (November 26, 2025) they had detained a suspect.
“The scene is secured. One suspect is in custody,” The DC Police posted on X.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday (November 26, 2025) two National Guard troops shot blocks from the White House in downtown Washington were in a “critical condition”.
“The animal that shot the two National Guardsmen, with both being critically wounded, and now in two separate hospitals, is also severely wounded, but regardless, will pay a very steep price,” Mr. Trump posted on Truth Social.
