The Tiruvottiyur police arrested two persons on charges of assaulting a wireman at the Kaladipet electricity office on Monday (December 8, 2025).
A senior official of the city police said C. Mohan, a resident of Ennore, worked as a permanent staff member of the Electricity department at the Kaladipet electricity office. On Sunday night, two persons, identified as R. Umanath and R. Rajesh of Thiruchinankuppam, Tiruvottiyur, visited the office and complained that there was no electricity in their homes.
They later abused the electricity board employees. They asked the wireman, Mohan, who was finishing his work, to come and fix the issue. When he told them that he had finished his work and that others would come for rectification, the duo reportedly hit him.
