Two Sudanese students held after car overturns on JNTU flyover

Two Sudan nationals were detained by the KPHB Police after the car they were driving lost control and overturned on the JNTU flyover in Hyderabad on Sunday (October 26, 2025) morning.

The accused were identified as Safwan Mohammed Abdulrahman Ibrahim, 23, a BCA student from Ajmer, Rajasthan, and native of Khartoum, Sudan, and Badreldin Adam Abdelhadi Fadol, 23, a BCA student from Hyderabad, and native of Nyala, Sudan.

The incident was reported between 10.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Investigating officer K. Babu Rao said that both were found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of crash. A drug test conducted on them reported negative.

ā€œSafwan Mohammed had travelled from Ajmer to meet his friend in Hyderabad. The duo had rented a hatchback from a car rental company and were driving rashly and negligently under the influence of alcohol when the vehicle overturned. They sustained minor injuries,ā€ the officer said.

An eyewitness reported the incident to KPHB Police, following which the two were taken into custody. A case has been registered against them for drunk driving and rash and negligent driving. Further investigation is on.
