U.S. Consulate gets hoax bomb threat

Police launched an investigation after two bomb threat emails were sent to the Tamil Nadu DGP’s office, claiming that explosives had been planted at the U.S. Consulate in Chennai and at actor Prabhu’s residence. 

Bomb Disposal Squads searched both places and confirmed the threats to be a hoax. The repeated bomb threat emails have kept security agencies on edge. Police sources said the series of messages appeared to originate from a single source, and Police sources said a special cyber investigation team was analysing digital footprints to identify and arrest those responsible.
