The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) raided an unlicensed medical shop operating at Mamillagudem in Khammam district and seized a large quantity of medicines stocked for illegal sale. The operation was carried out on November 29 after officials received information about the unauthorised sale of drugs.
According to the DCA, the shop was being run by P.V. Narendra Kumar without holding a valid drug licence. During the inspection, officers found 101 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, antihypertensives, antidiabetic drugs and analgesics. The seized stock was valued at around ₹30,000. Samples were collected for analysis and further investigation is under way.
Officials said action would be taken against all those involved, including wholesalers and dealers who supplied medicines to the unlicensed establishment. They noted that supplying medicines to entities without a valid drug licence is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
