In a massive digital exercise ahead of the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi festival, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday conducted an electronic dip to select devotees for the first three days of the 10-day ‘Vaikunta Dwara Darshan’ scheduled from December 30.

Out of an overwhelming 24.05 lakh registrations, around 1.76 lakh pilgrims were chosen through the transparent and technology-driven allotment.

The registration window, which opened on November 27, witnessed an extraordinary response from the devout, hitting 9.28 lakh registrations on the TTD website, 13.29 lakh through mobile platforms, and 1.47 lakh on WhatsApp, underscoring the phenomenal digital outreach of the temple administration.

Immediately after the draw, the TTD initiated a rigorous duplication-elimination process and despatched confirmation messages along with official tickets by 2 p.m. A Google Maps link was also shared to help pilgrims effortlessly identify their reporting points for the darshan.

While 57,000 devotees will be allowed darshan on Vaikunta Ekadasi, 64,000 on Dwadasi, and 55,000 on January 1, coinciding with New Year’s Day.

During the last seven days of the 10-day festivities, devotees will be allowed for Vaikunta Dwara Darshan without any necessity for any kind of darshan ticket, ensuring wider access.

The TTD will also release 15,000 Special Entry Darshan (SED) tickets of ₹300 each and 1,000 SriVani tickets daily for the last seven days, the bookings of which will open on December 5.
