The valedictory function of skill development programme conducted by the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS), under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of V. O. Chidambaranar (V. O. C. ) Port was held on the port premises on Wednesday.
The programme has continued to deliver measurable outcomes, with strong placement results reflecting successful selection of candidates in several MNC’s and industries. It is noted that all 14 trainees in the welder and CNC operator batch secured employment, recording 100% placement.
V. O. C. Port has been organising multiple skill development programmes through CEMS, including vocational courses to enhance employability across multiple industrial sectors such as domestic data entry operator, EXIM executive, welder, warehouse executive etc,.
At the event, Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, distributed the course completion certificates to the successful trainees of EXIM and warehouse executive, welder and CNC operators.
Addressing the gathering, he exhorted the students to seize this opportunity to build their career. He also highlighted the importance of gender equality and equal opportunities for women in training programmes.
Rajesh Soundararajan, deputy chairperson and other senior officials of port were present at the event.
