Tvisha S. Pandey and Suryansh Choudhry of hosts Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram clinched top honours in the junior category of The Hindu World School Quiz, conducted at the Maharana Pratap auditorium in Jaipur on Tuesday. The duo’s consistency paved the way to the final shootout round, where they answered three of the six questions to have the last hurrah.
Divit Malik and Manvik Singhal of Cambridge Court World School, which had two teams in the six-team final, finished runner-up ahead of their schoolmates Lavin Jain and Akarsh Purohit.
Meanwhile, in the senior category, Cambridge Court High School’s Medhansh Vaddadi and Athrav Gautam triumped. Shourya Mitruka and Jatin Solanki from Jayshree Periwal High School settled for second position, narrowly ahead of Aamina Chauhan and Riddhima Gupta of the MGD Girls’ School.
If the participation of 150 teams in the junior category was any indication of the annual quiz’s popularity – now in its 24th edition – then the senior category further endorsed the appeal of the event, with 160 teams from 30 schools vying for the top spot.
The prizes, which included trophies and medals for all finalists, along with a special trophy for the winning team in each category, were given away by Pradipta Kumar Panda, deputy general manager and circle development officer of the State Bank of India, Jaipur circle, the presenting sponsor of the quiz for the past three editions in Rajasthan’s capital.
