The viral video showing books landing on the main road from the second floor of MS Degree College, Malakpet, is “not linked to mass copying as falsely circulated on social media”. The incident occurred when old records from the rack in a storeroom facing the roadside fell, the institute’s managing director Mohammed Mouzam Hussain has said in a clarification.

Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram, following the incident, on Saturday instructed director, Academic Audit Cell, Kishan, to carry out a probe.

In response, MS Degree College said the video is not related, as the B.A. Economics III Semester examination for students of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, Chaitanyapuri, was held on November 28. Some miscreants outside the college building captured the moment and circulated it online with false claims, it further said.

Police also visited the college, examined the storeroom, verified the examination arrangements and confirmed that no malpractice had taken place, it said.
