Vizag Port handles 60MMT cargo in 249 days

Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) handled 60MMT cargo in 249 days of the current financial year 2025–26, according to a release issued here on Saturday (December 06, 2025). In comparison, VPA handled 60MMT in 273 days during FY 2024–25 and in 275 days during FY 2023–24.

Despite global trade fluctuations and logistical challenges, the VPA’s strong performance has been driven by strategic initiatives focusing on alternative cargoes, enhanced infrastructure, process optimisation, and seamless coordination with trade partners, said chairperson M. Angamuthu, adding that they have now set a target of reaching 90MMT in the current financial year.
