The Graduation Day of Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology (VVIET) in the city was held on Saturday and 140 boys and 142 girls received their degrees on the completion of their respective courses.
College topper Suman C.S. from Computer Science Engineering; Chandana N. from Electronics and Communication Engineering; Kishore Y.A. from Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Charitra A.N. from Information Science and Engineering, and Ullas R. from Civil Engineering, were felicitated by the VVIET management on the occasion.
Dilip Krishnaswamy, director, C-DOT, Bengaluru, delivered the graduation day address. Taking note of the concerns about the rise of Artificial Intelligence, he reassured students that AI is not a threat to their jobs but a tool that can be harnessed in their work.
He encouraged them to become experts in the areas they are truly passionate about and to integrate AI meaningfully into those fields.
Mr. Krishnaswamy said graduation day did not mark the end of learning but was a new beginning in life. He urged the fresh graduates to embrace lifelong learning, personal growth, and the continuous pursuit of excellence as they step into a new chapter of their lives. Krishnaswamy reminded the graduates that learning extends far beyond the classroom.
‘’As you move on to pursue your careers or higher education, strive to keep improving and instead of comparing with others, strive to become a better individual compared to yourself in the past’’, he added.
He emphasised the importance of following one’s passion, staying adaptable and viewing life’s challenges as opportunities for growth. Enjoying the journey, he said, is as important as reaching the destination.
M.V. Ritesh Gowda, chairman, VVET, said years spent at Vidya Vikas had instilled knowledge, resilience, and the ability to solve problems creatively.
‘’Graduation marks a turning point filled with new challenges and opportunities, and you should use your skills to contribute to national development and stay connected to the institution as responsible alumni,” he added.
Principal Karibasappa Kwadiki, staff of VVIET and others were present.
