The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) councillor of ward nine in Krishnagiri Municipality, M. Nagajyothi, was removed from her primary membership by the AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
Ms. Nagajyothi had voted in favour of the no-confidence motion passed by the DMK councillors against the chairperson of Krishnagiri Municipality Farida Nawab, who was also from the DMK, on Monday (November 10, 2025). The no-confidence motion was passed with a quorum of 27 votes out of 33 votes, with Ms. Nagajyothi’s vote critical to the passing of the motion.
In a public notice, Mr. Palaniswami announced the removal of Ms. Nagajyothi from her primary membership.
The AIADMK’s district secretary and Krishnagiri MLA Dr. A. Ashok Kumar confirmed the removal of Ms. Nagajyothi.
