Water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 134.40 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 656 cusecs and a discharge of 1,711 cusecs. The level in Vaigai dam was 68.18 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 1,709 cusecs and a discharge of 2,449 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 9,963.23 mcft. Rainfall recorded during the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Tuesday was (in mm): Mullaperiyar dam 2.6, Thekkadi 1.8, Gudalur 0.8 and Shanmuganadhi dam 0.6.
