West Corporation Commissioner Rajendra K.V. on Sunday directed officials to take up a comprehensive overhaul of the Yeshwantpur Junction traffic island and its surrounding areas.
Mr. Rajendra carried out an inspection from Mekhri Circle to Manjunath Nagar Metro Station on a two-wheeler to review civic issues. During the inspection, he instructed officials to repaint the Yeshwantpur flyover, install adequate lighting, and beautify the junction to improve visibility and pedestrian safety.
He noted that road medians along the stretch were poorly maintained and directed staff to clean and restore them immediately.
The Commissioner also called for the repair and upkeep of roadside bus shelters to make them more commuter-friendly. Several black spots areas were identified along roadsides, footpaths and vacant plots.
Mr. Rajendra instructed officials to clear these spots without delay and enforce strict monitoring to prevent repeat dumping.
