Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru on Friday (October 31, 2025) denied the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) claims of irregularities in appointments in the Municipal Administration and Water Supply (MAWS) Department, and affirmed that he and his party would prove their innocence in the inquiry process.
Speaking to reporters after attending a DMK booth-level consultation meeting for Tiruchi North and Central districts, Mr. Nehru said, “We will prove that we are innocent and come clean.”
Referring to the ED’s communication, the Minister said the agency had informed the Tamil Nadu police that certain documents were recovered during searches and requested them to examine the materials. “The State police will scrutinise the documents and determine if any irregularities occurred. I have done nothing wrong,” he said.
Nehru slams EPS
Criticising AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Mr. Nehru said members of his alliance were “leaving one after the other.” He dismissed Mr. Palaniswami’s remarks describing the meeting of K.A. Sengottaiyan, O. Panneerselvam, and T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Thursday (October 30) as the coming-together of “the DMK’s B Team.”
