A 29-year-old woman died of electric shock after she fell from the second floor of a building on an electric line passing through the area at Jayam Nagar in Mudaliarpet on Thursday.
The police identified the victim as Surya, a resident of Shanmugapuram. She was staying in her sister’s house at Mudaliarpet when the incident occurred. Police said the body was hanging on the electric line for some time before the Fire Services personnel could be summoned to remove the trapped body.
Police said a case has been registered and investigation was on to ascertain whether it was an accidental fall from the building.
