Jayanthi, 40, of Ganapathi Vilagam in Nannilam taluk was electrocuted after she reportedly stepped on a live wire near her house.
According to sources, the deceased, on the afternoon of November 24, was herding her goats on an agricultural field near her house. She reportedly stepped on a live overhead power traction wire that had snapped and lying on the field.
She died on the spot. Peralam police have registered a case and are investigating.
