Woman, goats runover by train engine

A Woman along with her goats died after being hit by a train engine here on Sunday.

Police said, woman identified as Bathrakali, 55, a resident of Aranmanaipudur village near Theni, was grazing her goats in Thamaraikulam area on Madurai road.

While she was crossing the railway track with her goats, she was hit by a train engine that was traveling from Madurai towards Bodinayakanur for maintenance work.

She died on the spot and along with her more than 30 goats also died.

Investigation by Theni Town police and Railway Police is underway.
