A woman was killed on the spot and 10 others were injured when a speeding truck collided with a autorickshaw near Kotakal Cross in Emmiganur mandal on Saturday.
According to the police, the autorickshaw was ferrying daily wage workers from a field when the accident occurred. Police said that six of the injured were in critical condition and were rushed to the Government Hospital here. Overspeeding of the truck had led to the collision, the police added. A case was registered and an investigation is under way.
